What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

What We Believe

Plymouth Church of Christ is a New Testament church that believes and follows the Bible as our only rule of faith and practice.

We believe that:
The Bible is the inspired and infallible word of God.  II Timothy 3:16,17
Jehovah God is the one true and living God. Deuteronomy 6:4
Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God. Matthew 16:16
Every person is in need of God's grace. Romans 3:23
Jesus came to earth to save those who believe in Him. John 3:16

We believe the mission of the church is to evangelize the lost and edify the redeemed.

Our PCOC Mission statement: “Winning lost souls to Jesus Christ and discipling them to become devoted followers of Him.”

The Bible Teaches that a person is saved by:

Believing in Christ and accepting Him as their Savior.

Romans 10:17 – Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Romans 10:10 – For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Repenting of their sins.

Act 2:38 – Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Luke 13:3 – I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.

Confessing their faith in Christ.

Matthew 10:32,33 – Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.

Being baptized into Christ

Galatians 3:27 – for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
Acts 2:38 – Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Living a faithful and fruitful life in Christ.

Colossians 3:17 – And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Revelation 2:10 – Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor's crown.
